I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and have had a great start to your new year. It has been a very busy and hectic time around here, as I'm sure it has been for most everyone. I always love the holiday season and am sad to see it go by so quickly.....BUT am not sorry when the stress and hustle and bustle it brings along with it finally leaves and everything seems 'normal' again. Whew....I am finally starting to feel some relief. I have a couple new furry friends on eBay right now. Daisy and Ruby. Here they are....

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Ours was wonderful and very blessed....and now it's time to think about Christmas!! I love, love, love Christmas! Not the cold weather, of course, but the smells and beautiful decorations and just the wonderful, magical feeling in the air this time of year.

I haven't been working on an actual bear this week but I HAVE been working on a new pattern. Here's a clue....Oink! Oink! Lots of drawing, cutting, re-drawing, cutting some more and fitting pieces together like a puzzle!! I hope to have a new little piggy created for you all to see very soon. I have been working on this a lot the past few days and the pattern has been a little difficult to put together but I did a real quick test run with some old material this evening and I think it's going to turn out just fine! We shall see....

Hannah or hannaH?

As you all probably know, many times artists are asked how they come up with names for their creations. I've been asked the same...how do you name your bears? Well, as so many will tell you, I never set out with a certain name in mind. When he or she is finished, I take a step back and look at my completed project and usually, 95% of the time, my little creation tells me their name! It does sound a little silly...but believe me, it's true. I know many of you are nodding your heads right now, agreeing with me.

Anyway...this leads me to my title. Hannah or hannaH? Well, when my latest little bear was completed this afternoon, I knew right away that her name was Hannah. I couldn't help but think of a book I read in third grade, one that I really loved, "Hannah is a Palindrome". It's a really cute story and I loved it soooo much back then. So, for anyone that might not know...a palindrome is a word that can be spelled the same way both forward and backward...hence my title...Hannah or hannaH. After reading that book in third grade, our teacher, Mrs. Crisp told us about a palindrome sentence. Let's see if I can remember this one:

A man a plan a canal panama. That's it! Look for yourself...it's spelled the same both ways!

Hi, everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful week, so far! It is just too hot here!! 105 degrees with 110-115 heat index...yuck!! It's really awful! Our garden has just about dried up into nothing. I spent a little while outside yesterday picking some of the last tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. I don't think it will be around much longer with this heat! Even with watering it as we do...it just cannot survive these terrible temperatures. All of this hot weather has kept me inside working on new things for eBay. Where I've Been...

As usual, I've been absent from my blog for some time now. Actually, not only my blog but from eBay and Etsy, too. There actually really is a good reason, though. I've been overwhelmed with custom wing orders again! I mean really, really overwhelmed this time! I've made over 30 pairs of wings in the past few weeks! And half of them were miniature wings...I mean extreme miniature! Like under an inch!

WOW! You wouldn't imagine that such small wings would be so much more complicated and take so much more time than the large ones but really, they do! I'm extremely overjoyed to have this order finished! I just finished today so I'm still jumping up and down with excitement. Now I can start working on the new project that I had started before the wings came in to take over! The "new project" came about unexpectedly. I was searching the internet for ideas for Cindy's (Thimbleprims) last swap, the pin doll swap when I came across clothespin dolls. I made one, then I made another, and another and I couldn't stop myself!! I became addicted to making them instantly and haven't thought of anything else since. I'm hoping to take pictures to show you all tonight. I'll add them to a new post real soon. I will probably be listing them in either my Etsy shop or on eBay. We'll see how it goes...I'm excited about it! I'm taking a little break from the bears right now. I love making them, too, but for now...it is clothespin dolls!!!

In other news, we've really been enjoying summer! It has been extremely hot here but luckily we don't have a lot of humidity on most days. That's the killer for me!
Living in Southern Missouri always brought the dreadful, humid summers. I'm thankful those days are over!
The flowers here are blooming and just look so pretty.
We have beautiful Yuccas covering the entire front of our house.
So pretty...

And we can't forget the wild roses....

And my brand new rosebush that started blooming today for the first time. My very favorite rose...pink with yellow centers! I love them!

I don't believe I have any pictures of our mimosa trees now. They are beautiful this time of year. I'll have to take some tomorrow and show you. They smell divine!! And another one of my sweet favorites will be blooming soon, too! The wild jasmine! Oh the smells of summer...how I love them!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!

This past week I've been so Busy! I haven't had custom wing orders in a long time and then three hit me all in the same day! Isn't that funny how it works? Well, that's at least how it always works for me. All or nothing!! This time, two of the custom orders that I'm working on are different requests than usual. I'm working on a pair of wings and a pair of spikes (think dragon spikes!) for a "Woodparent". For those of you who don't know about Woodbabies or Woodparents, I didn't either until a few years ago. They are neat little carved wooden and colorful fur covered puppets (I guess it's okay to call them puppets) that sit on your shoulder. Their little heads move and they are really cute! Anyway, I've been making wings for my friend, Genevieve, for a few years now and she has decided that her new 'baby' needs spikes. Pretty neat! I'll have to show you pictures of the spikes when they are all finished. For now, here is a picture of the wings that will go along with the spikes.

And the last custom order, which I haven't had the chance to start, yet, is wings for two Boston Terrier dogs. Yes!! Isn't that neat?? They are named Tori and Tula. They have their own calender that they put out each year and I have been chosen to create wings for their 'March' photo shoot. They are going to be wearing tutus and my wings for a St. Patrick's day kind of theme. I will definitely have to post pictures when these are all finished.

And last but not least I've been working on small pair of pretty white wings for a new customer, Sharon. I just completed them this morning and they are still drying. Here they are:

How are you all doing? I hope you are having beautiful weather where you are! We are having 80-degree days here and I am loving it! The daffodils have bloomed and look so beautiful. It's hard to believe that Easter is this Sunday! Time really does fly!

In other news, I finally got my studio moved upstairs. I've been wanting to do that for some time now and I think the beautiful weather gave me that final shove that I needed to get that big, really BIG task done. Now that it IS done, I'm loving it! Nothing like having your very own space to make messes in. Messes that you don't have to clean up if you don't want to...that's one reason why it's really great.

I've been working on new wings for eBay and Etsy. I'll have two new pairs listed on eBay tonight. Here is what they look like:

I also made some new cute little tags for my Esty store. I don't know if they will sell or not but they sure were fun to make. I'll be making more, I just know it!

I'm currently working on another little teddy bear (kind of like Maudina's) that I will be selling on eBay very soon. This will be my first time to sell a bear so we will see how it goes. I'm very excited. Especially to see if it will sell or not. I'm not going to give up easily, though. I know all good things take time and I'll just keep trying and making more bears until one does sell. That's going to be my attitude! Mainly for the reason that I so love, love, love making these little bears!!

Anyway, I got busy with my new pattern this weekend and created this cute little pillow.

It was a lot of fun, really easy and I think it turned out really cute. And best of all, it smells sooo good. I used a special blend of coffee, vanilla and cinnamon to stain/dye the muslin and it smells wonderful! I plan on making more of these very soon.

Lots of Catching Up to Do...

Hello everyone! I sure hope you are having springtime weather wherever you are! I am LOVING our warm weather! On Sunday it was 67 degrees! What a treat! Especially after this frigid winter!

As usual, I have lots of catching up to do with my blog. Again, it has been waaaay to long since I've made a post and so much has happened.

First, I will start by showing you all some of the wonderful things I received from Cindy in my Valentine's Day package. I know, I really am behind! Here it is in the middle of March and I am just getting around to showing you Valentine's Day things! But my gifts from Cindy were much too special to leave out just because I cannot seem to get my stuff together! I probably won't be able to show you everything, but I can at least show you a few of my new special treasures.

Mouse Swap Pictures

Okay, okay....I told you almost two weeks ago I was going to share my pictures of the mouse I got from Cindy at Thimbleprims when we did our private mouse swap. Now I am finally getting around to doing it...I'm going to get better at this blogging stuff, I promise! You are never going to believe how beautiful she is!

And of course, with anything that Cindy does, it wasn't JUST the mouse....it was so much more!! Cindy is just the best!! Miss mouse came in this beautiful box. Isn't it the most special box ever?

And when I opened the box and looked inside, I was even more surprised! It was filled with all kinds of goodies! And even more clothing for Miss Mouse! Look!

Cindy made all of these beautiful clothes for Miss Mouse to enjoy! A cape and hat for the cold winter months, a beautiful spring time dress and I think this has to be my favorite....a nightgown and robe! Can you believe it? SO cute!!

By the way, do I have to mention that my favorite color is green? Cindy doesn't miss a thing!!

Lots and lots of cold weather here lately! And where has the sunshine gone?? Needless to say, I am ready for spring to get here already!! I guess I should just be thankful that we aren't buried in tons of snow like the Eastern part of the US is right now.

I've been busy lately working on new wings (which will be available in a few days) and have made my first teddy bear!

I love to hold him. He just has the most special 'feel' to him! Undoubtedly, I have to keep him for myself. This is a special treat for me as I usually don't do this. Most of my creations are sold. I hope to make more in the future to offer in my Etsy and eBay shops. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear from you!

I made a really wonderful fruit salad this weekend. I'm sure most of you have tried it and probably even have the recipe but just in case you don't....you should really try this! It's so easy and delicious!

Watergate Salad

1 (8 oz.) container of Cool Whip whipped topping, thawed
1 small package instant pistachio pudding
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple - save the juice!
2 c miniature marshmallows

Mix thawed whipped topping and pineapple juice from can together in large glass bowl. Add dry pudding mix to above mixture, stir well. Mix in pineapple. Fold in marshmallows. For best results, refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.

Just a Quick Hello

It has been two weeks since my last post! Time flies when you are having fun...or in my case when you are busy! So, anyway, a big 'SORRY' to my five loyal followers. If I ever want to get more followers, I'm going to have to post more often, right?? (Or do a giveaway!!LOL!)
I'm going to try hard to remember to (or more importantly just take the time to) post more often.

Let's see...what's been going on since the last post? Hmmmm...I've been working on wings! Lots and lots of wings! I will be listing wings on eBay later this evening and maybe a few pairs on Etsy within the next few days.
I will be sure to post about them here later tonight or tomorrow.

Oh, also! The mouse swap that I mentioned before. Cindy from Thimbleprims and I did a wonderful one on one mouse swap. I will have to show you both the mice I created for her and the wonderful, beautiful Miss Mouse I received from her! Cindy LOVES to spoil her swap partners! Of course she didn't just send Miss Mouse, she sent lots and lots of special 'Miss Mouse' belongings! I will have to show you! I just have to take the pictures. One more thing I will add to my 'To Do' list! If you ever get the chance, you should join one of her swaps. She is currently hosting a swap - the Travel Doll Swap. New Wings on eBay!

I haven't made any new wings for eBay in so long! I've been working on large dragonfly wings from eBay orders but they are all kind of the same....and don't really count. I haven't had much time to actually work on new designs...for my usual style of wings. It seems like it's been forever! I have two new pairs listed tonight.
